Brand Experience | Creative Direction | Communications

Hi, I'm Kevin.
I believe creative expression has the power to bring people together.

About Me
I grew up in Brownsville, Texas, which is not exactly where most people expect a career in creative to begin. But life rarely asks permission before handing you a strange and wonderful path. I spent my teen summers visiting my aunt in California, who was a journalist at the time. I somehow convinced her and her boss to let me onto the old NBC lot in Burbank as a production intern. I logged footage, bugged camera crews, snapped photos of Jay Leno's cars, and peaked into sound stages like a kid who had just discovered there was an entire universe behind the curtain. I was hooked.
At 20, I did what a lot of young people do when they are fueled by equal parts ambition and questionable judgment. I followed my heart to Los Angeles. I studied New Media at Video Symphony, convinced there was a place for me in that world if I worked hard enough. Then the recession of 2011 showed up, unimpressed with my plans and in no mood to negotiate.. So I took a headset, worked as a Emergency Roadside Service agent at AAA, and freelanced wherever and whenever I could. It was not glamorous. No one was writing songs about call center life. But it taught me how to listen, how to adapt, and how to keep moving when the road gets ugly.
By my second year, AAA had seen enough of me getting pulled off the phones to help with creative projects that they created an Employee Communications role for me. That opened a different door in my life. One that still allowed me to do what I love. Since then, whether in corporate roles or freelance work, I have built my career the same way I started it: by showing up, staying curious, and paying attention to people and their stories.
Today, my work lives at the intersection of brand storytelling, human experience, and creative strategy for events and communications across the U.S. and Latin America. I try to make work that feels human. Work that respects the audience enough to be authentic. Work that reaches a little deeper than the screen, the stage, or the sales pitch.
I have been lucky enough to learn from people who shaped me not just as a creative, but as a human being. I try to pay that forward whenever I can. And now, as a new father, that means even more. I want my son to see that hard work matters, creativity matters, and that whatever good we build in this life, we rarely build it alone.
